Qingpu Modern Agricultural Zone is located in Qingpu District Liantang Town the home town of the great revolutionist, comrade Yun Cheng. It is one of the first city level agricultural zones of Shanghai. Its construction was launched in 1999 and has achieved complete infrastructure and supporting facilities, attracting a large number of enterprises home and abroad and contributing to the city’s economy and social welfare. The Zone has been boosting the development of Qingpu and Shanghai’s modern agriculture.

  With China’s success in bidding for the Olympic Games, World Expo and joining WTO, Shanghai is becoming the focus of the globe and a hot spot for investment. Qingpu District as its backyard is bond to be more prosperous. The district is accelerating its urbanization process through the construction of its central area and industrial zones. Its Modern Agricultural Zone enjoys great location advantage as it faces the renowned Dingshan Lake tourist destination to the north and borders the great plain of Hangzhou-Jiading-Shanghai. And it is right by the side of Zhujiajiao, a city level tourist spot. It boasts a water transportation network of Longtou Harbor, Dazheng Harbor, and Caofang River. And the Zone is passed through by the Zhufeng Highway that links to No. 318 and No. 320 National Highways and surrounded by Huqingping, Shanghai-Hangzhou, Tongsan Highways.

  Qingpu Modern Agricultural Zone covers 27,300 mu or 18.2 square kilometers. It is divided into five function areas: High-Tech Model Area, Industrial Processing Area, Farm Product Logistics Area, Characteristic Farming Area, and Ecological Agriculture Sightseeing Area.
