Shanghai Oriental Economic City is a comprehensive district level development zone of various economy sectors, primarily of private economy, established at the approval of the government of Minhang District. Its construct and economy scale ranks among the tops in the city and is the largest economic city in Pudong Area.

  The City boasts great investment environment with superior geographical position, convenient water-land transportation and complete supporting facilities of water-power supply, roads and telecommunication. It is located in the south west of Pudong New Area and on the bank of Huangpu River and Dazhi River, 20 km from central Shanghai and Pudong International Airport, 10 km from Xupu, Fengpu Bridges. The City borders Sanlu Highway on its east, Zhahang Highway on its south and Jiyang Road Expressway on south-west. It is 20 minutes drive to central Shangahi and Pudong International Aiport. Dazhi River, the largest branch of Huangpu River with 500 ton capacity, runs 500 meters to the south of the City. The 350-thousand volt transformer substation, 10-thousand telephone bureau, 30-thousand ton waterworks are now all put in use. The city also boasts wide and clear roads, lush groves, restaurants, song and dance halls, and supermarkets.
