Shanghai, the heart of China's economy, makes IT industry its first pillar industry in the new century. Having blueprinted growth of IT industry in its tenth five-year plan, the municipal government is devoting itself to the informatization of urban development. This as the background, Changning District government has introduced new concepts into the development of the district with the the me of "Digitized Changning". Development of information technology and promotion of IT products are one of the projects scheduled to be carried out by the government. Furongjiang Road Computer City and Hongqiao E-era Plaza have been set up. Changning District, the only authorized pilot area or exploitation of information resources in China, is to establish Changning Technology Park.

  As many as 300 IT enterprises have opened up their operations in Changning. Among them are international top IT brands such as Intel, Cisco, and Japan Software Bank, as well as Chinese IT giants, including Legend PC, Shenzhou Digital, Founder PC, Great Wall PC and Software, and Qingniao of Beijing University, to name a few. An e-era vanguard are will be established with a completely new look in Changning.

  Shanghai Multimedia Park is situated in the heart of Changning District. It is next to Zhongshan Park, and borders on Changning Information Garden of China Science Academy. With its advantages in location, complete facilities, and advance planning, the park will soon be the strategic center of Digitized Changning.
