Shanghai Yanghang Economic Development Zone which covers 25.8 square kilometer is located in the center of Baoshan District, by the side of Bao Steel. Four kilograms from its east is Baoshan Harbor, and 10 km from its south extends the Inner Ring. It is 28 km from Hongqiao International Airport in the south-west.

  The town makes full use of its many advantages, such as its convenient geographical position and water and land transportation, rich land resource, and closeness to giant enterprises like Bao Steel, to form a number mainstay industries, including electro-mechanics manufacturing, non-ferrous metal processing, container manufacturing, storage and logistics and real estate, under the guideline of promoting secondary industry as priority, and strive to develop tertiary industry while maintaining stability of the primary industry. Now, the are 40 foreign enterprises from nine countries that have settled in the Zone including the world famous ones such as Freightliner from US, Toshiba and Hitachi from Japan, Jindao from Korea, Licai and Haide from Hang Kong, and Chongyou from Taiwan, with 150 million USD investment and 110 million USD contact capital. The Town’s comprehensive economic strength is rapidly developing year by year, rendering itself a key part in the development of Baoshan District.
