Association of Foreign-Invested Enterprises

     Shanghai Nanhui Association of Foreign-Invested Enterprises is a non-profit organization approved by People's Government of Nanhui District, composed of enterprises with foreign investment, enterprises with investment from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, and other relevant organizations.

     Shanghai Nanhui Association of Foreign-Invested Enterprises was found in October 1994. Its chairman is Ms. Kang Qinghua, director of Nanhui Economic Relations Commission.

     The mission of the Association is to serve its member enterprises and investors according to the opening-up policy and relevant guidelines, policies, laws and regulations encouraging foreign investment, to maintain the legitimate rights and interests of its member enterprises and investors, and to enhance the understanding, friendship and cooperation between the government and its member enterprises as well as among member enterprises.

     The work of the Association is under the guidance of Nanhui Foreign Economic Relations Commission and Shanghai Association of Foreign-invested Enterprises. 

     Services provided by the Association as follows:

     1. Introducing foreign investment environment;

     2. Organizing activities such as presentations and Salons to transmit policies, regulations and important information of the government in time;

     3. Handing out Nanhui Foreign Trade & Commerce (monthly) edited and printed by our association, Foreign Investment Information (half-monthly), Shanghai Foreign Investors (journal of the association) and Selected Laws & Regulations (quarterly) edited and printed by Shanghai Association of Foreign-invested Enterprises to members free of charge. Nanhui Foreign Trade & Commerce publishes relevant information of member enterprises for free;

     4. Maintaining the legitimate rights and interests of member enterprises and investors; investigating problems encountered by member enterprises in production and operation; reporting their complaints and suggestions to relevant departments and trying the best to give them assistance;

     5. Organizing social activities to promote understanding and support between the government and its member enterprises, and to enhance friendship and cooperation among member enterprises;

     6. Inviting legal consultants to coordinate and handle contradictions, conflicts and suits of the foreign-invested enterprises;

     7. Participating in the joint annual inspection of foreign-invested enterprises;

     8. Recommending and evaluation of model foreign-invested enterprises at the national and municipal level;

     9. Helping member enterprises to participate in “China Import & Export Commodities Fair” and “East China Export Commodities Fair” as well as other exhibitions both at home and abroad; assisting member enterprises to explore the domestic and international markets;

     10. Handling stamping issues at the competent departments on behalf of wholly owned foreign enterprises;

     11. Applying for various kinds of assistant funds for member enterprises;

     12. Stamping on relevant certificates needed by foreign-invested enterprises in dealing with various procedures;

     13. Confirmation and inspection of the technologically advanced and export-oriented foreign-invested enterprises;

     14. Dealing with other issues entrusted by the government and member enterprises.

     Rights of member enterprises: enjoying various kinds of services provided by the association, requiring the association to maintain the legitimate rights and interests of member enterprises and to give assistance.

     Obligations of member enterprises: according to articles of the association, member enterprises shall pay membership fee once a year that varies based on the amount of total investment.

     To enhance the contact with foreign-invested enterprises and to give them better service, the district association entrusts those who are responsible for foreign economic issues in towns, bureaus and industrial zones to coordinate the work of the association.
