It is located in southeast Shanghai, to the east of Shanghai Lin Gang New Town, to the west of central Feng Cheng, to the south of Wu Si Farmland and to the north of Shanghai A30 express way suburb loop line. The total planning area of the development area is 15 square kilometers. Water supply, power supply, communication facilities and other infrastructure are sufficient in this area.
 
The total planning area of the development area is 18.3 square kilo meters, which is made of distribution and storage, manufacturing and processing as well as living and dwelling. Logistics is the driving force, with manufacturing the core and living the basis. The area of 5 square kilometers is to be developed. The infrastructure construction in the area of 8 square kilometers is to be completed in the end of 2005. Great efforts are being made to fully develop an area of 18.3 square meters in five to seven years.

A.      Convenient Transportation
Air Transportation         Via A30 and A2 expressways, Shanghai Pu Dong International Airport and Hong Qiao International Airport can be reached. The development area is 30 miles away from Shanghai Pu Dong International Airport and 50 miles away from Hong Qiao International Airport.
Road Transportation      The transportation of the development area is convenient with the north end A30 expressway, the east end A2 Expressway, the west end Pu Xing highway and A4 expressway. The development Area is 45 kilometers away from downtown Shanghai, 30 kilometers away from Pu Dong New Area, 40 kilometers away from Shanghai New Railway Station, 10 kilometers away from Lingang New Town and 35 kilometers away from Yang Shan Deep-Water Seaport.
 
Railway Transportation         The construction of Pu Dong railway began in 2004. The railway will pass across the harbour development area where a cargo link station Ping’an Station has been set up. Pu Dong railway is a fast passageway for cargo transportation, in connection with the harbours airports and new town. It is also an important part of the national coastal passageway; expected to be accomplished in the end of 2005 when the first phase of constructing Yang Shan Deep-Water Seaport is to end.
 
B.      Adjacenct to two harbours, an advantage in air transport
The development zone is adjacent to two big international harbours, Pu Dong International Airport harbour and Yang Shan International Deep-Water Seaport. Pu Dong International Airport is the biggest hub of air transport nationwide, which can be developed into a good harbour with a capacity volume of 25 million standard containers per year. That has a lasting effect on the harbour development area.
 
C. The advantage of low-cost land  
There are sufficient land resources available for exploitation in the development area, which is a plus in cost competition, compared with nearby areas.
