With rapid economic development and optimization of industrial structure in recent several years, /the industrial structure of our district is being further optimized. It has formed the “1+4” new industrial structure with modern service industry as the principal part / (1-modern service industry; 4- real estate and its extended industry, modern type business, new and hi-tech industry, urban industry), and improved the overall energy level and grade.

Modern service industry: /lay stress on the development of information service industry, consulting service industry, accelerate convention & exhibition tourism industry, modern logistics industry, house leasing industry, financial service industry and social service industry. /In 2004, there are over 4700 enterprises in the modern service industry of our district, which achieved a tax revenue of RMB 1322 million, accounting for 25.3% of the total tax revenue of the district. / Information service industry will be fostered as “one super powerful industry” of Changning district.

Real estate and its extended industry: /in 2004, the real estate and its extended industry achieved a tax revenue of RMB 1.798 billion, accounting for 34.51% of the tax revenue of the whole district. And the secondary and third markets of real estate all maintained a strong development momentum.
Modern type business: in 2004, the district achieved a total business sales of RMB 29.4 billion, an increase of 9.4% as compared to the same period last year. The district also achieved a social consumer goods retail volume of RMB 10.02 billion, an increase of 11.2% as compared to the same period last year. And the district achieved tax revenue of RMB 760 million in the whole year.

New and hi-tech industry: in recent 10 years, Changning district fully utilizes its advantages, grasps opportunities, exploits and develops, and actively introduces science and technology enterprises by implementing “digital Changning” strategy and promoting construction of three major science parks, and painstakingly cultivates the science and technology industry. /By the end of 2004, there are altogether 98 new and hi-tech enterprises in Changning district.

Urban industry: in 2003, industrial sales output value of the whole district was RMB 5.31 billion, an increase of 10.3% as compared to the same period last year. / Changning district is now laying stress on the development of “one district one brand” clothes & clothing ornament characteristic industry with “casual wear and suit” as the core. / At present it has formed three noticeable industrial features, i.e. scientific research & design, exhibition & display, and processing & manufacturing. /Within the district there are currently more than 1200 clothing enterprises, with a registered capital of RMB 2.375 billion. /In 2004, tax revenue of clothes & clothing ornament industry was RMB 123 million, accounting for 35.5% of the urban industrial tax revenue.
