The Inner Ring Road, Middle Ring Road, and Outer Ring Road go through the District; with the completion of Rail Transit Line 7, 11 and 3, it forms a three-dimensional, convenient and unobstructed road network framework.

Putuo District is a treasure place for investment and development. After years of high performance and quality services, it creates an environment cherished by countless near and faraway merchants. By the end of 2004, the contracted introduction of foreign capital had reached up to $875 million, as well as RMB16.3 billion domestic registered capitals. Within the zone, a large number of international known enterprises collect, such as the Asian headquarter of Metro, China headquarter of Schneider, China headquarter of OBI, etc.

Putuo District is the hinterland where Shanghai plans to develop the modern service industry.
