Shanghai Caohejing Hi-Tech Park was approved as a state-level economic and technological development zone in 1988 as well as a state-level hi-tech park in 1991. Thanks to its successful development, Shanghai Caohejing Pujiang Hi-Tech Park was approved by the State Council as an expansion for Shanghai Caohejing Hi-Tech Park's new round development. As a state-level economic and technological development zone, Shanghai Caohejing Pujiang Hi-Tech Park has also been listed by Shanghai Municipal Government as one of the five key industrial parks in Shanghai.

Adjacent to Xupu Bridge (Outer Ring Road) and Lupu Bridge, Shanghai Caohejing Pujiang Hi-Tech Park is located in Pujiang Town of Minhang District, a town on Shanghai government's "three cities, seven towns" residential project list. Enjoying excellent geographical location, it boasts convenient transportation, only 20 minutes' drive (16 km) to the People's Square and within 30 minutes' drive to Hong Qiao Airport or Pudong International Airport.

Shanghai Caohejing Pujiang Hi-Tech Park is composed of three parts, namely, Export & Processing Zone, hi-tech park and mixed-use part, totaling 10.7sq.km. It focuses on hi-tech industry development and will introduce the relevant supporting industries to facilitate the hi-tech development.

Shanghai Zizhu Science-based Industrial Park (ZSP) was approved by Shanghai Municipal Government in Sept. 2001. It is jointly invested by Minhang District, Shanghai Zijiang (Group) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Alliance Investment Co., Ltd., Shanghai Zijiang Enterprises Group Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Jiaotong University Assets Management (Group) Co., Ltd.. It is integrating strong research ability, rich human resource & capital and industrial advantages. Run by market mechanism, ZSP is planned to become a new type science park. It is divided into three functional parts: University Area, R&D Base and Pujiang Forest Peninsula. The first phase occupies 13 square kilometers.

It is in the upper cusp of the Huangpu River. Thanks for its advantageous location, ZSP enjoys convenient air, sea, and road & rail transportation network. Guangang Wharf is situated nearby. Xingfengjing Highway (A20) is on its west side. Only five minutes needed to get on and off A20 Highway through the designated Jianchuan Road Interchange. Huhang Highway, Huning Highway, Yan’an High-elevated Road, Inner-ring Road and Xupu Bridge link with A20 that brings convenient transportation network to all directions.

In the first phase, leading industries of the park are microelectronics, photoelectron, digital technology, IT, new material represented by nano-tech, optical fiber communication and life science.

Xinzhuang Industry Park (XIP) was established in August of 1995 with the approval of Shanghai Municipal Government. The total area is 13.65 square kilometers.

XIP enjoys excellent geographical location, which is one of the nearest industrial parks to Shanghai downtown. It is just nearby Hongqiao International Airport and Guangang deep-water wharf with 8 ten-thousand-ton class berths on the bank of Huangpu River. Pudong International Airport and Zhanghuabang international container wharf are both within the distance of 40 kilometers. The state highways in the surrounding area, such as State Highway No.312, No.318 and No.320, lead to different big cities across the country. Shanghai-Ninbo Expressway and Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway are just within 15 and 5 minutes' ride respectively. Shanghai Metro Line has reached Xinzhuang and Xinmin Lightrail, of which the first stop is XIP, links to the Metro.

XIP mainly absorbs hi-tech enterprises with high added value and no pollution. Now the park has become the booming industrial zone with three main industries as IT relevant industry, electric appliance, auto-component and new material. By now more than 200 enterprises from home and abroad have been established in the park, among which 60 with an investment of above 10,000,000 USD.
