Shanghai Jiading Industrial Zone

Founded in 1992, Shanghai Jiading Industrial Zone is a municipal-level industrial zone approved by Shanghai People’s Government in September 1994. It is a supporting zone for Pudong development in Shanghai. The total planning area is 24.8sq.km, the area of Phase I development is 8.4 sq.km and the area of Phase II development is 5 sq.km. It will be built into a high-level industrial park guided by high and new technologies, focused on modern industries, supported by tertiary industry and social public welfare undertakings and adapting to international economic development.

Shanghai International Automobile City is located at Anting Town, Jiading District, Shanghai and covers a land of 68sq.km.

Shanghai Taiwan Businessmen Industrial Park (Jiading)

On January 21, 2002, approved by Shanghai People’s Government, Jiading District People’s Government allocated a 6km2 land (as Phase I) in the already mature state-level high-tech park (municipal-level industrial zone) to set up Shanghai Taiwan Businessmen Industrial Park (Jiading), which integrates industrial production, commercial and trade service and residential service.

Shanghai International Automobile City Spare Parts Assembly Industrial Park
Founded in 1998, this industrial park is a municipal-level industrial park approved by Shanghai People’s Government and forms an important part of Shanghai International Automobile City. It covers a land of 8km2.

Relying on the advantages of Shanghai International Automobile City, the industrial park attracts a high number of domestic and foreign investors for its planning of high starting point, high-level construction and high-speed development. Now, it has formed an industrial system focused on the auto industry and integrating scientific instruments, medical appliances, mechanical and electronic industries and become a new star among the industrial development zones in Shanghai. Shanghai Photo-electronic Industrial Park

It is located inside Jiading municipal-level industrial park and its construction scale is 6~10km2. It is composed of R & D Area and Photo-electronic Industry Area. The R & D Area includes Incubator Park, Photo-electronic R & D Center and Photo-electronic Detection Technology Platform, Photo-electronic Products Presentation Center and Academic Exchange Center. The Photo-electronic Industry Area mainly absorbs photo-electronic information industry projects. Its industrial planning mainly covers optic display, optic communication, optic storage, special optic fiber cable, laser processing and laser therapeutic equipment.

1. Optic display industry: plan to the 4th display industry group. At present, Beijing Yong An Investment Company is planning to build a LCD production line with other investors in Jiading Industrial Zone.
2. Optic communication industry: emphasize developing photo-electronic basic materials, light active components and passive components, optic communication system and equipment, network system and equipment as well as mobile communication system and equipment.
3. Special optic fiber cable industry: include optic fiber transducers, optic fiber grating, electric optic cable, submarine optic cable, etc.
4. Optic storage: utilize the cleanable phase-change CD storage media, membrane technology and CD making technology, CD substrate defect dynamic meter developed by the CAS Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics to promote the industrialization process of optic storage products.
5. Laser processing and laser therapeutic equipment industry: Shanghai Huazhong Enterprises Leo Laser Equipment Co., Ltd., with the CAS Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics as the main participant, is an important production base mass-producing KW-level high power cross flow carbon dichloride laser equipment. Besides, it also produces hydrogen-neon, carbon dichloride and other laser therapeutic apparatuses. On the basis, the park continues introducing a group of the similar production enterprises so as to further develop laser processing and laser therapeutic equipment industry.
Shanghai Zhongke High-tech Park
Shanghai Zhongke High-tech Park is one of the “one zone, six parks” for high and new technology industries in Shanghai, a cradle for returned overseas students to start their undertakings and a base for domestic and foreign science and technology entrepreneurs to implement the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements.

Over recent several years, the leaders at all levels have given great care and support to its development. Some world-famous companies and a number of high-tech projects have settled in the park. By the end of 2001, 328 enterprises have settled in this park, with a total absorbed investment of RMB 650 million and tax revenue of RMB 150 million. 10 enterprises have been identified as the high-tech enterprises in Shanghai. In 1996, the park and Shanghai Service Center for Returned Overseas Students jointly established Shanghai Jiading Park for Returned Overseas Students to Starting their Undertakings. In November 2000, it was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Personnel and Ministry of Education as a national park for returned overseas students to start their undertakings. At present, this park for returned overseas students has more than 200 enterprises. Shanghai Northwest Logistics Jiangqiao Park

Shanghai Northwest Logistics Park covers a land of 3.3km2 (5000mu). The area of Phase I development is about 2500mu.
Shanghai Northwest Logistics Park is located at the converging place of 204# National Highway, 312# National Highway and Huning Expressway and of Huning and Huhang railways and close to the Suzhou River in the south. Inside this park, the inland river loading/unloading area can be opened. Through the Outer Ring Road, it can also have an easy access to the stations, docks, warehouses and airports in Shanghai, a true “west gate” of Shanghai. With the gradual improvement of urban traffic system, the location of this area will be more important.
It has a convenient traffic network and gathers various modes of transport. Around this plot, there are “three transverse roads, six longitudinal roads”, i.e. three transverse roads: 312# National Highway, Huning Expressway and Suhong Highway (Airport Road); six longitudinal roads (2nd ring road): Xinxiang Highway, Jiaxin Expressway, Huangfang Highway, Tongsan National Highway and Waiqingsong Highway (3rd road), forming a very convenient road traffic network. In the east of it, there is Railway Fengbin Cargo Station. Currently, cargo transport business has been open. All cars from Volkswagen Plant are transported to the whole country through this station. In line with the structural adjusting plan of Shanghai Navigation Affairs Management Office, the navigation of the east and middle sections of the Suzhou River in the south of it will be stopped and the navigation will focus on the west section from Huaqing to the boundary of Jiangsu Province, so as to reach the “west in, west out” objective. The Suzhou River section in the south of this park belongs to gold waters. The combination of highway, railway and navigation in this park forms the gathering of multimodal transport.
This park has a good social environment and the reasonable of building a logistics hub. The location of Jiangqiao Park conforms to the main direction of cargo flows into and out of the city. According to the estimate of cargo freight volume in 1999, the external freight volume by railway and highway accounts 66.2% of the total freight volume. The freight volume between Shanghai and Ningbo accounts for 2/3. The freight volume in this direction accounts for about 44.1% of the citywide external freight volume. At the same time, this also conforms to the layout of warehouses and docks in Shanghai. Around it, there are two industrial parks, Anting automobile city and Jiangqiao Town.
