During the daytime, the uniquely designed facade allows sunlight to filter through the special walls, creating rich lighting effects and allowing visitors to have a visual feast on the arts, culture and history of Poland. Mr. Kaczmarek, Poland’s vice-minister of Economy; Krzysztof Szumki, Polish ambassador to China and Wang Xiubao, consultant of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination attending the opening ceremony. Mr. Xu Wei, vice-chairman and secretary of Shanghai International Cooperation Association of Small and Medium Enterprises also attended the event.

Mr. Kaczmarek suggested that Poland Pavilion will hold over 100 events during the course of the Expo, and expresses his hope that the exhibition can further help increase the friendship between the two peoples.

Slawomir Majman, commissioner-general of the Poland Pavilion section of Expo 2010 introduced three highlights of Poland Pavilion. In the Pavilion, visitors can enjoy Tomasz Bagiński's trailer of "1000 years of Poland in 8 minutes"; when night falls, visitors will be invited to join a disco dance, to fully relax themselves by dancing to the tune of music, and finally, a dragon on a digital screen, a drawing board and a bar stool, all interpreted through the art of paper-cutting, can be seen in a building shaped in the form of a folded paper box and covered with floral cuttings. Majman suggested that the dragon is the also a sign that the Chinese and Polish cultures have a lot in common.
