Established on Jan. 5, 1987, Shanghai Pharmaceutical Profession Association (SPPA) is a cross-sector, trans-ownership and non-profit industry organization as legal person organized voluntarily by pharmaceutical, bioengineering, medicine packaging material, medicine material and pharmaceutical machinery enterprises and institutions in Shanghai, with pharmaceutical enterprises as main body.

  SPPA currently has more than 200 members of various ownerships, with industrial coverage of over 95%.

  SPPA’s mission is to provide information, statistics, technical, market and exhibition services, and promote brand strategy and organize investigation, exchange, training and seminar; under the guideline of “providing diverse services for the industry in a practical manner”, actively reflect the needs of the enterprises, communicate policies of the government, serve as a good assistant, and act as a bridge between enterprises and government/society.

  SPPA publishes Shanghai Medical and Pharmaceutical Journal, SPPA Internal References, SPPA briefings, Shanghai Medical and Pharmaceutical Market and Technology newsletter on a regular basis to provide information to members; holds technical work meeting annually to introduce advanced experience, commend excellent enterprises, and deliver latest information about medical product, new process, new technology and experts’ academic report; conducts professional training from time to time to improve the level of industries; carries out industry self-discipline supervision to increase the overall quality of the industry and advocates new industry trend, in combination with the administration and regulation by Shanghai Food and Drug Administration.
