Shanghai Optoelectronics Trade Association (SOTA) is a cross-sector, trans-ownership and non-profit industry organization as legal person organized voluntarily by optoelectronics research, development, manufacturing, testing and application enterprises and institutions in Shanghai in Jan. 2003. 

  SOTA currently has 106 members of various ownerships, covering various optoelectronics fields, such as optical fiber/cable, optical components & optical sensing, optical display & optical storage, optical material & semiconductor lighting (LED), optical testing & optical instrument, laser & laser equipment, etc. SOTA members have obvious advantages and take leading positions in Shanghai optoelectronics industry.

  SOTA publishes internal briefing SOTA Newsletter (bimonthly), and issues a wide range of information via its website.

  SOTA also held the Shanghai International LED and Semiconductor Lighting Expo 2004 and China International Semiconductor Lighting Forum 2004 jointly with Coordination and Leading Workgroup Office for National Semiconductor Lighting Program, and has established cooperative relationships with overseas counterparts since its establishment to facilitate the industry exchanges.
