Shanghai Bean Curd Products Trade Association (SBTA), established in Sep. 1986, is a cross-sector, trans-ownership and non-profit industry organization as legal person organized voluntarily by bean curd product production and trading enterprises and institutions in Shanghai.

  SBTA currently has 72 members of various ownerships.

  SBTA’s mission is to abide by the Constitution and laws; protect the legal rights and interests of the members; assist the government to drive the technological progress and development of the industry; ensure the safety and sanitation of bean curd products, and increase the life quality of the people. SBTA provides such services as consulting, technical training, organization of exchanges, and promotion of economic and technological cooperation.

  The departments of SBTA Secretariat include Office (Communication Department), Comprehensive Information Department, Collective Trademark Administration Committee, Quality Testing Center, Technical Training Center, Standardization Promotion Team, Price Coordination Team, Bean Curd Product Delivery Order Distribution Team, and Sanitation Permit Initial Review Team.

  SBTA’s mission is to, in light of its work guidelines of revitalizing the industry through science and technology (specifically, developing new products and exploring new markets, making product standardized, packaged and sold on the shelf, and providing healthy, nutritious, tasty and convenient products), participate in the development and implementation of product standards, industry development planning, policies, regulations and market admittance system; develop and oversee the implementation of the guild regulations; register and supervise the use of two collective trademarks; organize product quality inspection, appraisal and certification; conduct technical training; publish Bean Curd Products Industry News; and carry out a variety of economic, technical and management cooperation and exchanges with related organizations at home and abroad.

  Currently, the production amount of bean curd products of the members accounts for about 65% of the total in Shanghai. One member has obtained the “Green Food” certificate, 15 members have been awarded the title “Safety Demonstration Units for Edible Agricultural Product Distribution in Shanghai” and 20 members have passed the HACCP quality certification.
