Established in Aug. 1988, Shanghai Elevator Trade Association (SETA) is a cross-sector, trans-ownership and non-profit industry organization as legal person organized voluntarily by elevator manufacturing, installation and maintenance enterprises and institutions in Shanghai. Currently, it has more than 200 members including elevator companies, universities and colleges, as well as building design, real estate and property management enterprises.

  SETA currently has three standing affiliates, namely, Shanghai Elevator magazine Editorial Department, Shanghai Elevator Training Center, Shanghai Hongxin Elevator Consulting Co., Ltd. as well as five special committees, i.e., Security and Manufacturing Committee, Installation Committee, Repair and Maintenance Committee, Quality Committee and Technical Consulting Committee. SETA’s main function is to be responsible for conducting industry-related activities.

  SETA implements laws, regulations and decrees of the government, protects the interests of the industry, promotes the industry's technology development, and enhances the collaboration level of the industry. Under the principles of “justice, equity and openness”, SETA performs its functions in a practical way, with service as its mission; and unites all members and acts as a bridge between the government and industry, and between members.
