Established in 1989, Shanghai Trade Association of Photography Profession (STAPP) is a cross-sector, trans-ownership and non-profit industry organization as legal person organized voluntarily by photographic firms (including photographic studios), imaging companies, color printing stores, photographic device production & sales enterprises and institutions in Shanghai.

  STAPP currently has more than 150 members of various ownerships.

  STAPP provides members with latest industry news, policies, regulations, and other information via Shanghai Photography Industry Information (bi-monthly), and issued Regulations of Shanghai Photography Industry on Standard Terms of Color Printing Contract- Digital Image Processing jointly with Shanghai Consumer Council, handles and coordinates the complaints from the consumers and forwarded by the Consumer Council impartially as a regular work. STAPP successfully held the 2003 Shanghai Photography Practitioner Skill Competition; in August 2003, STAPP hosted the establishment ceremony of Digital Imaging Committee of China Portrait Photography Institute, with the presence of more than 60 photography enterprise representatives, and organized a series of exchange activities; and, STAPP initiated and participated in the Joint Meeting of Photography Industry Organizations of Some Regions held annually.
