Shanghai Aluminum Trade Association (SATA) is a cross-sector, trans-ownership and non-profit industry organization as legal person established voluntarily by Aluminum processing, production and smelting enterprises and institutions in Shanghai in March 1989.

  SATA currently has 53 members of various ownerships.

  SATA is constantly committed to the services mainly including information exchange, technical consulting and technical training; releases Aluminum processing information through its journal Shanghai Aluminum Industry, and provides production and operation data of the industry through industry statistics, especially, the Analysis and Statistics Yearbook of China Aluminum Processing Economy that SATA compiles together with other organizations; upon the request of the enterprise, organizes industry experts to provide short-term or long-term technical consulting and on-site services to the enterprises for technical technological transformation and product upgrade; conducts technical training for enterprises to improve their production skills and capacities; and actively participates in exhibition and forum to promote products of the enterprises and explore new markets.
